Toyota Croatia has launched a preventive service action for the gas pedal for its eight vehicle models. A detailed analysis has determined that 7,325 vehicles will be included in the preventive action in Croatia.
Their owners will be notified in writing to visit the nearest authorized Toyota service to reinforce the gas pedal mechanism at our expense, according to Toyota’s statement. The first quantities of the necessary parts at authorized services in Croatia are expected from February 15, 2010. Toyota’s solution for existing owners is effective and simple: a machine-cut steel plate will be installed as reinforcement on the existing gas pedal mechanism, which will reduce the stress on the surfaces of the parts in contact. By installing the reinforcement, friction will be reduced, thereby avoiding the possibility of a stiff gas pedal.
In addition, Toyota has already implemented an effective solution in the production of all new vehicles intended for the European market. – A free information hotline 0800 0894 is open for all our drivers, aimed at Toyota customers for any inquiries related to the preventive service action for the gas pedal. The information hotline is open from Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. We apologize to all our customers for the unplanned visit to the service resulting from the preventive service action for the gas pedal – concludes Toyota’s statement. (M.N.)
