Zagreb Brewery achieved a net profit of 196.4 million kuna in 2009, which is a 20.8 percent increase compared to the previous year, according to data from the unaudited, unconsolidated financial report published on the Zagreb Stock Exchange.
The results achieved are within the planned framework, as stated in the explanation of business results. It is also emphasized that the net profit is not final due to the deadline for filing the tax return, and the final net profit will be published after the submission of the tax return for 2009 and the release of the revised financial statements planned for the end of March. The total revenue of the company last year amounted to 857.1 million kuna, an increase of 3.1 percent. The majority of revenue comes from sales, which increased by 1.5 percent to 815.17 million kuna. Zagreb Brewery reduced total expenses last year compared to the previous year by 1.4 percent, to 609.4 million kuna. It is noted that the majority owner of the company changed in December of last year. Interbrew Central European Holding from the Netherlands sold its shares (71.92 percent) to the Zagreb company Cervesia, which is majority-owned by Starbev from Luxembourg. (H)
