Everything that the public has speculated about in recent days regarding the infamous meeting of directors from about 20 public companies in Banski dvori in 2007 now has official confirmation, reports hrt.hr
In an exclusive interview for Dnevnik HTV, Damir Mihanović, one of the participants in the meeting and a current member of the Management Board of Croatia osiguranje, confirmed that former Prime Minister Sanader recommended they start entering into contracts with Fimi media of Nevenka Jurak. A member of the Management Board of Croatia osiguranje was one of about twenty individuals from state companies who attended the meeting at the Government at the invitation of then Prime Minister Ivo Sanader three years ago. The meeting took place in the spring of 2007 in Banski dvori. Following that meeting, a second meeting took place at the Customs Administration in Zagreb, Mihanović confirmed. He did not wish to comment on who else was present at the meeting or whether the head of the Customs Administration, Mladen Barišić, was also in Banski dvori at that time due to the confidentiality of the proceedings conducted by USKOK.
After these meetings, contracts with Fimi media began to be concluded, but Mihanović claims he was the only one who rejected Sanader’s suggestions to direct the entire marketing budget and cooperation towards Nevenka Jurak and opted for public tenders. Of the 4 public tenders, Fimi media won only one, for the lease of advertising space on public and commercial television. While the public speculates solely about the enrichment and financial aspects of Fimi media, Mihanović believes that a much deeper and socially dangerous problem lies behind the entire case. With the combined marketing resources of all state companies, the media public in Croatia is being blackmailed, and that is what particularly concerns me, says Mihanović.
