Criminal Charges Filed Against Vesna Majher and Franjo Žulj

Zagreb Holding has filed a criminal complaint with the Municipal State Attorney’s Office in Zagreb against the former head of the Bus Station branch, Franjo Žulj, and employee of that branch, Vesna Majher, for abuse of position and authority.

In the Holding’s statement, it is noted that the criminal complaint was filed based on the findings of the Internal Audit and Control Service, due to reasonable suspicion that they committed a criminal offense. At the beginning of December 2009, the Holding reported that Franjo Žulj was relieved of his duties as the head of the Bus Station Zagreb branch due to shortcomings related to the employment of Vesna Majher in that branch. Media reported at that time that Vesna Majher, the head of finance for presidential candidate Milan Bandić, had been receiving a salary of 7,000 kuna at the Bus Station Zagreb for the past two years without attending work. Majher was dismissed in November from her position as assistant director of the Bus Station and was reportedly receiving a salary of 12,000 kuna at that time. She had been promoted to that position only a month prior. Last week, she was returned to her old job due to procedural shortcomings and her possible lawsuit, but now she has also earned a complaint herself. (www.hrt.hr)
