The Osijek company Žito will take over the agricultural-food company Đakovština in bankruptcy as a lessee, decided the temporary Creditor’s Committee which held a meeting at the Commercial Court in Osijek, reports hrt.hr.
The account of Đakovština has been blocked for over a year due to a debt of half a billion kuna. The warehouses are empty, and workers have been without pay since October of last year. All 400 workers will transfer to the lessee on the day of the bankruptcy opening. Žito will also take over certain stocks, raw materials, and purchase them from Đakovština in bankruptcy. This money will be used for salary payments, says the county union representative of PPDIV, Šimo Orešković. The cooperators were reserved at the temporary Creditor’s Committee, but we learn that they did not oppose the decision for the bankruptcy administrator to sign the Lease Agreement with representatives of Žito as early as tomorrow.
