The Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament will discuss and vote on the resolution proposal regarding Croatia’s progress tomorrow and the day after. The agenda also includes a discussion on 50 amendments submitted by representatives to the text of the parliamentary rapporteur for Croatia, Hannes Swoboda.
Before the discussion on the resolution proposal, the Chief Prosecutor of The Hague, Serge Brammertz, will speak and answer questions from representatives at the Foreign Affairs Committee. His opinion is extremely important for the content of the parliamentary resolution. It is also significant for the positions of certain member states, which are blocking the opening of the chapter on Justice and Fundamental Rights due to artillery logs from Operation Storm. At the last meeting of the EU Council’s working group on enlargement, the prevailing assessment was that Croatia has made progress leading towards the unblocking of negotiations in that chapter.
