The Payment of Incentives for Voluntary Pension Savings Has Begun

From the Ministry of Finance, we learn that in recent days, albeit with a delay of nearly a month, the payment, or rather the deposit of almost the entire amount, from the total planned 65.65 million kuna, of incentive funds for the year 2008 has begun, and this applies to all companies, or rather members of our voluntary pension funds.

Thus, the Ministry of Finance has deposited just over 93 percent of the total amount of state incentive funds for 2008 into the accounts of Raiffeisen’s voluntary pension funds, and the remainder of the payment is expected soon, it was announced today by Raiffeisen’s company for managing voluntary pension funds. They state that just over 17.3 million kuna has been deposited into the accounts of members of Raiffeisen’s open voluntary pension fund, while nearly 1.57 million kuna of state incentives has been deposited into the accounts of six Raiffeisen closed voluntary pension funds. According to the announcement, Raiffeisen’s pension management company has had an exceptionally successful year, as both their returns and the number of members are continuously increasing, and a significant contribution to the affirmation of voluntary pension savings is the payment of state incentive funds. By the way, state incentive funds for voluntary pension savings amount to 25 percent of the paid amount in one calendar year, up to a maximum of 1,250 kuna, which implies that the optimal annual payment is 5,000 kuna. As a reminder, members of pension funds also gain the right to a tax deduction and fund returns on the paid amounts, making voluntary pension savings an exceptionally profitable form of savings.
