Renato Kunić replaces Hloverka Novak-Srzić

With nine votes in favor and one against, the Programming Council of HRT has dismissed the editor of the HTV Information Program, Hloverka Novak-Srzić. Renato Kunić was elected as the acting editor of the Information Program, with seven votes in favor and three invalid votes, reports hrt.hr.

Novak-Srzić offered her mandate for disposal, and the request for her dismissal was submitted by former HTV director Blago Markota. The Council meeting began with a discussion on programming direction. There was also talk about shortcomings during the broadcast of the HDZ press conference and exit polls in the presidential elections. Novak-Srzić stated that the main culprit for HRT not having exit polls was the State Election Commission, which prohibited them. Commercial television stations managed to change that decision, but it was too late for HRT due to the provisions of the Public Procurement Act. There was also a discussion about an error during the weather forecast broadcast, and it was concluded that HRT would once again apologize to both viewers and the State Hydrometeorological Institute. At the end of the meeting, the bids received for the position of the general director of HRT will be opened. A total of 22 applications were received. (www.hrt.hr)
