The average net hourly wage of employees in legal entities in Croatia paid for October of last year was 30.06 kuna, which is 0.7 percent higher compared to the average for September, and 4.5 percent higher than the average for October of the previous year, reported the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS).
According to DZS data, in October, an average of 174 working hours were paid, which is 0.6 percent more than in September, with the highest number of paid hours, 203, in water transport, and the lowest, 163, in education. The highest hourly wage for October was paid to employees in management activities and consulting related to management, amounting to 69.18 kuna. Following are the average net hourly wages paid in air transport, at 51.72 kuna, and in advertising and market research, at 49.56 kuna.
The lowest net hourly wage for October of last year was paid in the production of leather and related products, amounting to 15.70 kuna, and just slightly higher, 15.89 kuna, was the average net hourly wage of employees in the clothing manufacturing sector. Less than 20 kuna was also the average net hourly wage of employees in protective and investigative activities (17.35 kuna), wood processing and products made of wood and cork, excluding furniture (18.21 kuna), services related to the management and maintenance of buildings and activities related to landscaping and maintenance (19.30 kuna), and textile production (19.03 kuna). The average monthly gross wage per hour for October 2009 was 43.41 kuna, which is an increase of 0.9 percent compared to September, and an increase of 4.5 percent compared to October of the previous year.
