Although Željko Kerum promised that he would come forward with the first information about the sale of his stores in 15 days, it is becoming increasingly likely that his retail business, although it is unknown for what amount, will remain in Croatian hands – under the auspices of the National Retail Chain, writes slobodnadalmacija.hr
– We cannot yet go public with all business information, I can only tell you that the Management of the Company has already met on this issue, and has already negotiated something, and in any case, it is better that, if a sale occurs, everything remains in domestic hands rather than having another foreigner come in – says Josip Milavić, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the group.
Selling the store to a foreigner also puts its own production into question, and such an option does not favor the domestic economy – adds Milavić. The goal is also to have as many “dimensions” as possible, with as few owners as possible, especially now – Milavić maintains. He also reflected on the uncertain fate of more than three thousand Kerum’s workers, but Milavić is optimistic about this.
– All his workers can be assured of future employment, as well as regular salaries, and be assured that not a single one of his stores will close – Milavić briefly states, adding that he would not want to say anything more until the final decision that will follow in two weeks.
