If the elections had been held yesterday, the new president of Croatia would be Ivo Josipović. According to a survey conducted from January 2 to 4 by the independent research center Media Metar, Josipović would win 55.2 percent, while Milan Bandić would receive 44.8 percent of the votes.
The center conducted the survey by telephone with 3,000 respondents. Participation in the survey was declined by 1,976 individuals or 36.7% of all contacted. The margin of error is +/- 2.4 percentage points at a 95 percent confidence level, according to Media Metar. According to the survey, 59.6 percent of voters will definitely or most likely participate in the elections. The undecided voters account for 12.7 percent. (www.hrt.hr)
