In the area of Bosnia and Herzegovina, 124 polling stations opened at seven o’clock where Croatian citizens living in that country can vote for the new president of Croatia.
In the area of the consular department of the embassy in Sarajevo, 37 polling stations have been established, 54 at the general consulate in Mostar, while 16 polling stations have opened in the area under the jurisdiction of the general consulate in Banja Luka and 17 voting places in the area of the consulate in Tuzla.
According to data available to Croatian diplomatic and consular representations in BiH, about 268 thousand Croatian citizens are registered to vote in that country. This is almost twenty thousand fewer than were registered for the elections for the Croatian Parliament held in 2007. This is the result of additional checks that ensured the removal of deceased persons’ names from the voter lists.(H)
