RTL and Nova TV have tonight published the first projections of the election results from today’s presidential elections, according to which the SDP candidate Ivo Josipović won 32.7 percent, independent candidate Milan Bandić 14.1 percent, and HDZ candidate Andrija Hebrang 12.1 percent of the votes.
Following is Nadan Vidošević with 11.6 percent, HNS candidate Vesna Pusić with 7.5 percent, independent candidate Dragan Primorac 5.9 percent, and IDS’s Damir Kajin with 4 percent. In eighth place is independent candidate Miroslav Tuđman with 4 percent, followed by independent candidate Josip Jurčević with 2.6 percent. In tenth place is independent candidate Boris Mikšić with 2.1 percent, second to last is Vesna Škare-Ožbolt with 1.6 percent, and the last candidate from the Democratic Party of Slavonia is Slavko Vukšić with 0.6 percent of the votes.
The survey covered 8,000 voters in Croatia without the diaspora, who answered the question of whom they voted for after voting. This is a so-called "exit poll," conducted by the Ipsos-Puls agency, as reported by these television stations. The poll is subject to a statistical error of plus/minus 3 percent. The State Election Commission (DIP) warns that exit polls do not represent official election results, noting that only DIP determines and publicly announces them. DIP will publish the first temporary and unofficial election results tonight at midnight. (H)
