According to data provided by electoral boards from 6,014 polling stations by 11 AM, 390,177 voters have cast their ballots, representing 10.74 percent of the total number of voters, stated the announcement from the State Electoral Commission.
From 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, 6,550 polling stations are open in the Republic of Croatia, where 4,495,006 voters can exercise their right to vote. The President of the Republic Stjepan Mesić, Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor, and the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament Luka Bebić have fulfilled their civic duty in Zagreb.
According to the report from the Ministry of the Interior, an incident was recorded at polling station No. 21 in Šibenik, where an unknown perpetrator broke into the polling station before it opened and removed two ballots, marking one of the candidates’ names. After the investigation, the polling station opened at 8:45 AM. At polling station No. 5 in Zabok, the police intervened due to an intoxicated person who was disturbing public order and peace. At polling station No. 99 in the Spinut Elementary School in Split, an unknown perpetrator broke three window panes, which resulted in the polling station being moved to another classroom, according to the report on the DIP website.
