At the Brodosplit shipyard in Split, a newly built tanker with a capacity of over 65,000 tons has been launched today, intended for navigation and transportation of oil and oil products in icy areas, commissioned by the Swedish company Concordia Maritime 4B, announced the Public Relations Office of Brodosplit.
The launched tanker, designated P-MAX, is class 1A, which means it will be able to navigate in broken ice up to one meter thick. The tanker is approximately 183 meters long, 40 meters wide, and nearly 18 meters high. It is powered by two engines built at Brodosplit’s Diesel Engine Factory. This is the third ship from the P-MAX program, out of four ships that the Split shipyard has contracted for the Swedish client Concordia Maritime 4B. Throughout this year, the Split shipyard has completed a total of five launches of newly built ships – three ships for Swedish clients, and one ship each for the domestic client "Jadroplov" and the Cypriot client Skol Shipping Company Ltd.
