Siemens Croatia achieved a pre-tax profit of 46.1 million kuna in 2009, a decrease compared to the previous year when the profit amounted to 200.7 million kuna, the company announced.
They note that the fiscal year 2009 for the company lasts from October 1, 2008, to September 30, 2009. Total revenues for this year amounted to 944.5 million kuna, compared to 1.3 billion kuna in 2008, which included revenues generated from the telecommunications division. During the same period, the company recorded new orders worth 751.3 million kuna, while in the previous year, when the telecommunications division was consolidated, they amounted to 1.39 billion kuna. In terms of share in total company revenues, the Energy sector took the lead with a share of 33.63 percent. In second place is the Industry sector, which has a share of 32.65 percent in total revenues. The company’s investments in 2009 were 3.5 million kuna, with the largest portion related to IT equipment.
Commenting on the results achieved, Siemens CEO Mladen Fogec emphasized that in a very difficult economic environment that marked the entire business year of 2009, Siemens in Croatia achieved the expected business goals in all three sectors. The company continued to focus on key parts of its portfolio, which includes an increasing role of products and solutions from Siemens’ environmental portfolio as the most important driver of business across the entire Siemens corporation. The company continued to implement measures to reduce sales, general, and administrative costs that further enhance the competitiveness of our company, he said. In the business year 2010, he noted, they expect greater investments in renewable energy sources in the Croatian market, highlighting the strategy of Siemens AG as a leading provider of sustainable ‘green’ solutions.
