The decision on the initiation of bankruptcy proceedings or the withdrawal of the proposal for bankruptcy of Pevec d.o.o. Bjelovar is expected to be made in three days, as learned after today’s hearing at the Bjelovar Commercial Court regarding the bankruptcy proceedings for this company, which encompasses six shopping centers with 428 employees.
After the hearing, the temporary bankruptcy trustee Darko Šket emphasized that Zdravko Pevec stated today that he has a strategic investor and presented a copy of the investment contract indicating that the investor could deposit 300 million euros. He added that the judge of the Commercial Court in Bjelovar, Branka Pleskalt, in accordance with the Bankruptcy Act, set a deadline of three days within which a credible statement from the investor regarding the debt must be submitted, certified by a public notary, as well as a bank guarantee or proof of available funds.
The proposal for bankruptcy can only be withdrawn by the proposers, who are the workers and suppliers. Šket stated that the debt of Pevec d.o.o. Bjelovar is approximately 600 million kuna, while its book value of assets is 470 million kuna. When asked whether the workers would receive one salary by Christmas, as promised by Zdravko Pevec, Šket said he could not speculate on that, but that the copy of the contract states that after signing the contract, 50 million euros would be deposited within 10 days.
