This coalition could create a project for the next parliamentary elections. This was stated by Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor while attending the program assembly of the Croatian Peasant Party. In doing so, she responded to a journalist’s question about a possible coalition ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections.
When asked about the announcement from coalition partners, including the HSS, that they would exit the coalition in the event of Ivo Sanader’s return to politics, Prime Minister Kosor asserted that Sanader had said when he left that he would not return to politics and that he had no political ambitions. The government will strongly support the economy and continue the uncompromising fight against corruption, the Prime Minister stated, explaining her announcement yesterday that next year will be even tougher than this one.
She emphasized that one of the first challenges will be the privatization of shipyards. As one of the current problems, she mentioned Christmas bonuses. We must adapt our decisions to the times we live in and the circumstances we are in. And we must clearly set priorities – that is, whether the priority is the Christmas bonus or the payment of salaries. The priority is definitely the payment of salaries, the Prime Minister emphasized. When asked by a journalist whether the HSS, as their largest coalition partner, should support Andrija Hebrang as a presidential candidate, Kosor replied that she cannot tie that to the coalition. Prime Minister Kosor is participating in the program main assembly of the Croatian Peasant Party, which is being held in the Congress Hall Globus at the Zagreb Fair. (www.hrt.hr)
