Sanader: It is a lie that I ever received a commission from Hypo bank

Former Prime Minister and president of HDZ Ivo Sanader issued a statement in which he vehemently rejects, as he says, the false reports of some media that he ever received a commission for supposedly mediating in the business of Hypo-Alpe-Adria bank or that this bank financed HDZ.

These are malicious slanders and lies that have been attempted to be disseminated in public several times, mainly before elections. Such fabrications aim to discredit me and HDZ. Given the campaign that has been systematically conducted against me and my family for some time by certain media, I reserve the right to take appropriate legal measures and steps, the statement reads. An article about Sanader’s connection to Hypo bank in Croatia was published by the Austrian agency APA under the title “Bombastic details about the business of the Carinthian bank in the Balkans.” A statement also came from the Croatian branch of the bank. The claims that have appeared in the media in recent days regarding alleged scandals in the business of Hypo Group Alpe Adria in Croatia cannot be commented on. The management of Hypo Alpe-Adria-Bank d.d. has no knowledge of these alleged events, the statement reported by hrt.hr states.
