The Government today rejected the bids received in the first round of privatization for Brodotrogir (bid from More Trogir) and Brodosplit – Shipyard for Special Objects (BSO) Split (company Adria Mar).
It also decided to proceed with the sale of shares and stakes in the Pula Uljanik, Rijeka 3. Maj, Shipbuilding Industry Split, Brodotrogir, Shipyard Kraljevica, and BSO. In this regard, the Government tasked the Croatian Privatization Fund to prepare all necessary bidding documentation, forms, and other acts for the second round of privatization, as well as to prepare and publish a public call for collecting bids for the purchase of shares and business stakes. The public call will be published on January 6, 2010, according to the government’s decision.
We are before the second round of privatization of shipyards, emphasized Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor, while the Minister of Economy, Labor and Entrepreneurship Đuro Popijač announced the tenders for the second round. He reminded that the tender for the first round of privatization was announced on August 1 of this year, and the deadline for bids was until September 30, by which time 34 bidding documents had been purchased. Valid bids were submitted only by More Trogir for Brodotrogir and Adria Mar for BSO, and the commissions responsible for the privatization of shipyards concluded in their analysis that neither met the mandatory conditions of the tender, so they proposed to the Ministry of Economy, which in turn proposed to the Government to reject those bids, Popijač briefly reminded.
