The Deutsche Telekom (DT) branch for business solutions, T-Systems, has signed a five-year agreement to provide global telecommunications services to the British energy group BP, it was announced on Wednesday by DT.
Furthermore, the agreement will play a key role in supporting BP’s already initiated program for efficient business reorganization through additional significant cost savings. As part of this agreement, the financial details of which have not been disclosed, T-Systems will transform BP’s global telecommunications service network by adapting it for the use of next-generation voice and data services. BP’s business units will be able to choose communication services according to their specific needs and payment capabilities, and the agreement also anticipates the introduction of a new model for utilizing multiple sources for communication services, the statement further reads.
This program will greatly simplify BP’s existing network by significantly reducing the number of suppliers, thereby substantially lowering operational costs and ensuring higher service quality. As reported by DT, a separate agreement with Siemens Enterprise Communications (SEN) has been made to provide a global service that supports the needs of BP’s voice services, including telephone and audiovisual services. The two companies have numerous joint projects and an excellent history of successful collaboration. (H)
