Agrokor issued eurobonds worth 400 million euros

At a ceremonial event at Agrokor’s headquarters, it was emphasized that the rapid subscription of the entire issue is proof that Agrokor is recognized as a serious regional company among major global investors. The funds raised will be used by Agrokor to refinance existing obligations.

Agrokor successfully issued bonds worth 400 million euros on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange with a maturity of seven years and a coupon of ten percent. The arrangers of the issue were Unicredit Group and BNP Paribas, and the largest Croatian company will use the funds to refinance existing obligations.-I want to congratulate Agrokor because it is an exceptionally great success to issue such a large amount of bonds in today’s volatile market. In fact, the demand was twice the amount of the issue itself, and besides foreign buyers, there were also domestic institutional investors. I am pleased that we could participate in this transaction – said a representative of one of the arrangers, the CEO of Zagrebačka Banka, Franjo Luković.

The CEO of Agrokor, Ivica Todorić, stated that in today’s environment and current economic situation, the issuance of bonds with a maturity of even seven years is a very good deal. – All leading global investors have participated in this deal – said Todorić, adding that even some countries could not obtain the conditions that Agrokor received. – These funds will enable Agrokor to continue to lead its business policy stably and to support its partners – added Todorić.

Although the entire tranche goes to refinance existing obligations, Agrokor, Todorić assured journalists, has investments planned for the next year amounting to 150 million euros, while this money will only improve the company’s financial „blood picture“. Despite insistence from Agrokor, they did not want to disclose the interest rate and total price of the issue. Two companies from the Agrokor system (Jamnica and PIK Vinkovci) have already announced on the ZSE that they have taken on guarantees, and as Agrokor’s board member Ivan Crnjac told us, a total of eight companies from the Agrokor system served as guarantors in this transaction.
