Cameraman, director, and photographer Vedran Šamanović has died

Cameraman, director, and photographer, 41-year-old Vedran Šamanović passed away this morning in Zagreb after a serious illness, confirmed the Kino Club Zagreb, of which Šamanović was a long-time president.

He was born in 1968 in Split and studied at the Department of Film and Television Cinematography at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb. Since 1989, he has worked as a cameraman, director, photographer, and director of photography. He has been a member since 1991 and president since 1998 of the Kino Club Zagreb. As a photographer, he worked for Hina and Slobodna Dalmacija. He participated with films and video works at festivals both domestically and internationally, where he was also awarded. As a long-time president of the Kino Club Zagreb, the oldest such club in Croatia, he had a strong influence on the revitalization of the Club, its educational programs, and the launch of the international one-shot film festival "One Take Film Festival." In addition to his artistic work, he was also a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb and led numerous and diverse film workshops. (H)
