Due to 250 million kuna, the amount of damage that must be compensated to Podravka, the Marinac family could lose their luxurious properties, writes vecernji.hr
A three-story villa of nearly 500 square meters in Vrhovec, an elite part of Zagreb with a view of Medvednica, where the price per square meter of apartments is around three thousand euros. Opposite it, a seemingly modest white bungalow embedded in the hill shows luxury on three levels from the back. Unwanted guests cannot walk around these houses as they are equipped with video surveillance. However, no matter how much comfort they provide, their former owner is currently not enjoying it as he has been in investigative detention in Remetinec for a month.
The properties were owned until mid-September by Darko Marinac, the former president of Podravka’s management, who was arrested a month ago in a police and USKOK operation along with five other managers due to stock manipulation. Marinac gifted everything to his wife Borjanka, son Draško, and daughter Andrea for reasons known only to him. (www.vecernji.hr)
