Mirow: We find investments in infrastructure and the environment interesting.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Jadranka Kosor, met today at Banski Dvori with Thomas Mirow, the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and the main topic of discussion was the EBRD Annual Meeting, which will be held next year in Croatia, as announced by the government’s Public Relations Office.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Ivan Šuker and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandroković. Welcoming him, Prime Minister Kosor expressed satisfaction with the existing cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The main topic of discussion was the EBRD Annual Meeting, which will be hosted by the Republic of Croatia and will take place in Zagreb in May 2010. At the same time, a meeting at the level of prime ministers will be held in the Republic of Croatia in the format of SEECP (South-East European Cooperation Process).

The President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Thomas Mirow, spoke about the activities of the EBRD and the Republic of Croatia, and assessed Croatia as a leading country in the region. He added that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is ready to support projects that the Republic of Croatia will implement, highlighting investments in infrastructure and the environment. Prime Minister Kosor reported that the Croatian Parliament today ratified the Arbitration Agreement with Slovenia and emphasized that the unblocking of Croatia’s accession negotiations is a message of encouragement to the entire Southeast Europe. EBRD President Mirow expressed satisfaction with the ratification of the Agreement in the Croatian Parliament and congratulated Prime Minister Kosor on the achievement.
