With only five stocks with million kuna turnover and extremely poor liquidity characterized by a total turnover of only 26 million kuna, today Crobex sank by a high 1.86 percent. The hardest hit were the construction stocks, led by the decline of the Institute IGH.
The total turnover on the Zagreb Stock Exchange today amounted to 26 million kuna. Crobex is down by 1.86 percent, closing at 2,070 points, while Crobex 10 weakened by 2.21 percent. The most traded was HT with a turnover of 4.7 million kuna and a price drop of 0.74 percent, closing at 264 kuna. Today, investors traded much less with the largest Croatian telecom, as the previous day’s turnover was nearly three times higher. Atlantska plovidba informed the stock exchange that the shares for which dividends were paid for 2008 have been transferred to new owners. This fact is most likely the reason for the price drop of this shipping company, as some investors wanted to cash in their profits by selling.
With a turnover of two million kuna, Atlantska is down by 3.2 percent today. The largest negative price changes occurred in the construction sector. Dalekovod is down by 3.59 percent (1.6 million kuna turnover), Ingra by 4.58 percent (930 thousand kuna turnover), while the biggest loser of the day is the stock of the Institute IGH, which weakened by as much as 5.51 percent (3.5 million kuna turnover). The reason for the price drop of IGH is most likely speculation about the company’s inability to pay the agreed amount to the City of Zagreb for the land of Zagrepčanka. The last millionaire of the day is the stock of Ina, which, with a turnover of 1.1 million kuna, experienced a price drop of 3.77 percent. (Amir Kulenović)
