Crobex above 1,300 points, liquidity again weak

The Crobex index managed to return above 1,300 points in today’s trading on the Zagreb Stock Exchange, but the main problem remains weak liquidity, which prevents a significant recovery.

At 1:00 PM, the Crobex index stood at 1,310 points, što je 1,66 posto više nego jučer. The regular turnover of shares exceeded 12 million kuna."Crobex has returned today above the psychologically important threshold of 1,300 points. This is a small respite on the stock exchange after sharp corrections in recent days," comments Kristian Korunić, investment advisor at the brokerage firm Šted-Kapital. The highest turnover, four million kuna, was achieved by the T-HT share. Its price slightly increased by 0.19 percent to 206 kuna.

The Atlantska plovidba share has seen a turnover of 2.7 million kuna so far, and its price rose by 5.41 percent to 650 kuna. The share of Ericsson Nikola Tesla also joined the millionaires, with its price jumping by 5.64 percent to 910 kuna. Korunić adds that the main problem on the stock exchange remains illiquidity, without which there can be no significant recovery, and that some large investors are directed towards the money market due to high interest rates."Institutional investors and legal entities are now increasingly investing in the money market, where much more can be earned with significantly lower risk than trading shares," emphasizes Korunić. Interest rates in the money market have been around 35 percent in the last week.   (H)
