Ryan Air will fly from Osijek to Frankfurt starting May

The low-cost airline “Ryan Air” will establish a flight route Osijek-Frankfurt with two flights per week starting from May 6, marking the first route that “Ryan Air” is launching at Osijek Airport, representatives of Osijek Airport and “Ryan Air” reported today.

Laszlo Maroszi, a representative from the marketing department of “Ryan Air”, stated that flights will be offered on Thursdays and Sundays and that he expects a significant increase in the total number of passengers at Osijek Airport, who will take advantage of the low transportation prices of this company without additional fuel surcharges. Ticket prices on the Osijek-Frankfurt route will start from 19 euros one way. He emphasized that “Ryan Air” connects 144 destinations in 26 countries with over 1,100 daily departures, and by the end of March this year, the company will have 195 new “Boeing 737-800” aircraft, and will also order an additional 70 aircraft to be delivered over the next four years.

The director of Osijek Airport, Blanka Strahonja, expressed satisfaction with the establishment of the first “Ryan Air” route after long negotiations. In response to a journalist’s note that the establishment of a route to London was expected, she said that their desire was to connect with the airport in Frankfurt and that this is a much better option for the start of cooperation with “Ryan Air”, as there is greater potential in the German market for launching such a route. She noted that the cooperation agreement with this low-cost airline was signed for five years, that the flight schedule for the summer season will soon be announced, with a very good perspective for extension for the whole year, and that any additional routes will be introduced depending on flight occupancy.
