The world’s largest manufacturer of networking equipment announced at the Digital Advertising Conference on Thursday that it is starting the production of LCD screens exclusively intended for displaying advertisements.
At the digital advertising conference, Luka Markota, Cisco’s System Engineer, announced that the corporation is beginning the production of LCD displays for advertising purposes. The Cisco LCD Professional Series Displays will be produced in diagonal sizes of 40 and 52 inches (101.6 and 132 centimeters) with full 1080p resolution, and will operate as part of Cisco Digital Signage, a system for distributing video content to video screens that will provide advertisers with a sort of proof – a report on what was displayed, when, and on which exact screens.
Cisco’s televisions will not be produced for home use, but only for professional use, as they are high-reliability devices intended for operation for 12 or even 24 hours a day, and therefore their price is significantly higher. Details will be known soon, when the first samples arrive at Cisco’s Zagreb office. (I. Š.)
