Valamar denies connection to fan infection

– We completely reject the claim of the Serbian Ministry of Health, as reported by the media, that the only common factor for the fourteen Serbian fans was their stay at the pool of the Valamar Diamant hotel.

Namely, all the infected Serbs, as well as other infected individuals, stayed at the Žatika city hall. – a statement was sent from the Public Relations Department of the tourist company Valamar Group, following the incident involving the infection of 18 fans with legionella in Poreč during the Handball Championship. The infection is most commonly spread due to stagnant water, leading to suspicions that the infected individuals contracted it at the pool of the Valamar Diamant hotel, but preliminary results from the Croatian Institute of Public Health (HZJZ) showed that the source of legionella is undoubtedly in the Žatika hall, and not in the hotels of the Valamar Group and Plava Laguna, where the fans were accommodated.
