According to confirmed information from the Municipal Court in Karlovac, due to deficiencies in the operations of the Karlovac Land Registry Department, there have been leadership changes in that department.
The media obtained copies of documents showing that ownership was recorded long ago, but one company received the decision regarding this nine years, and another twelve years after the decision was made and recorded. The President of the Municipal Court, Tomislav Maras, stated that the control of the ‘Independent Sector for Land Registry Law’ of the Ministry of Justice found a series of omissions and deficiencies in the previous work of the manager Pavica Tomičić. Subsequently, Tomičić, Maras says, continued to work ‘disregarding even my instructions and measures’.
– Because of all this, I, according to my autonomous right as the acting president of the Court, dismissed her from the position of manager and appointed authorized land registry clerk Vesna Ribar in her place – says Maras. According to the new annual schedule of the Municipal Court in Karlovac, the change at the head of the land registry took place on February 1, and the dismissal was announced today.
When asked whether it is true that the control found evidence that some ownership decisions from 1999 were kept in drawers until January 2009, the Court spokesperson Nives Joha said that ‘there are examples that some handwritten decisions from previous years were only now being transcribed into the computer because they have only now come up for processing’. She stated that she is not aware of any control establishing anything controversial in this regard. (Mladen Volarić)
