Today, AutoZubak received the official notification from the City of Zagreb that it has been selected as the tenant of the City Café for a period of 10 years. The Commission for the Lease of City Spaces of the City of Zagreb accepted the company’s offer on January 26th.
AutoZubak is expected to take over the City Café by March 1st, after which a detailed renovation project will be developed, with an investment planned of around 10 million kuna. The goal of the renovation, which is expected to last 60 days, is to create a Zagreb café with a traditional offering of drinks, coffee, and pastries, as well as a special breakfast and lunch menu featuring specialties from the Zagreb region.
‘Particular attention will also be paid to retirees, who should remain valued guests. As part of the renovation, the café space will be adapted for people with disabilities and reduced mobility – if the City of Zagreb and the Institute for the Protection of Cultural and Natural Heritage permit it, an elevator will be installed for easier access for disabled persons. We intend to revive the once-traditional music evenings, as they will best intertwine the old and the contemporary, and restore the characteristic that the café had throughout history when it was the central place of civic social life,’ explained AutoZubak.
