At a price of 500 kuna per share, the Supervisory Board of Đuro Đaković Holding accepted the offer from Bilfinger Berger to purchase 50 percent plus one share. Through this transaction, the seller will generate just over 63 million kuna, while the buyer commits to maintaining the core business for the next five years and the current number of employees for a period of three years.
At the meeting of the Supervisory Board of Đuro Đaković Holding, it was decided to accept the offer from the German Bilfinger Berger, the only bidder for the purchase of a majority stake in Đuro Đaković Montaža at a price of 500 kuna per share. In addition to the offered price, the German buyer committed to maintaining the core business and the same number of employees in the coming years. With this transaction, the Slavonski Brod company will generate 63 million kuna, which they plan to use to strengthen their market position.
– This is a historic moment for Montaža. We have gained a strategic partner who will enable us to further develop and employ, which is particularly important in the current crisis, and open new markets and projects – said the excited CEO of Đuro Đaković Montaža, Vlatko Blekić. The management of Montaža is thrilled with this decision from the Holding, which is not surprising considering that a year and a half ago, they had already sold their shares to Bilfinger in an effort to encourage the sale of the majority stake. The integration into the system and plans of Bilfinger for Montaža will not be complicated or lengthy given their long-standing cooperation. They are currently working on projects in Finland, Poland, and Saudi Arabia, and the management of Montaža now expects a new owner with likely revised plans for 2009 and expectations of better results.
