15.6 million kuna in non-repayable funds for agriculture

Zagreb County will allocate 15.6 million kuna in non-repayable funds for the development of agriculture, rural development, and forestry this year, with the call for the allocation of these funds to be announced at the beginning of February.

This was decided today by the Zagreb County Administration, which increases these funds by 3.6 million kuna compared to last year. County Prefect Stjepan Kožić explained that they decided to do this to further encourage agricultural producers during this crisis period. Otherwise, Zagreb County has allocated a total of 26.1 million kuna for agriculture in this year’s budget. At today’s session, it was decided that the Spatial Plan of Zagreb County will undergo its third amendment and supplement. The reason for this is to ensure spatial planning prerequisites for the construction of electronic communication infrastructure, namely self-supporting antenna masts, in accordance with the request of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Physical Planning, and Construction.

The Administration has given consent to the Regional Energy Agency of Northwestern Croatia for the Work Program for the current year. The Agency will complete the development of a sustainable energy use strategy for its founders, Krapina-Zagorje, Zagreb, and Karlovac counties, as well as an action plan for the use of renewable energy sources for the city of Zagreb. At the same time, it will work on promoting the introduction and active implementation of systematic energy management in public buildings of the founders, cities, and municipalities.

In addition, Zagreb County will sign a Letter of Intent on ‘Systematic Energy Management in Cities and Counties in the Republic of Croatia’, thereby agreeing on cooperation on the project of the same name between Zagreb County, the Regional Energy Agency of Northwestern Croatia, the Ministry of Economy, Labor and Entrepreneurship, and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The project will take place during 2009 and 2010 based on the Implementation Plan, and the main goal of the project is to introduce systematic and continuous energy management in the cities and counties of the Republic of Croatia.
