After successfully landing a plane with 155 passengers on the Hudson River in New York, pilot Chesley B. Sullenberger has not only been declared a national hero but has also become mega-popular on Facebook.
Shortly after the historic landing, numerous fan groups dedicated to this American pilot appeared on Facebook. One of them has over 260,000 members, with 100 new fans joining every minute. In comparison, Amelia Earhart, the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean, has fewer than 500 fans, while Chuck Yeager, the first to break the sound barrier, has nearly 1,600 fans.
