The Executive Board of the Croatian Employers’ Association’s CRO Industry, warning about the consequences of the gas crisis for Croatian industry, today requested the implementation of urgent measures to secure new gas, schedule and reduce the consumption of existing gas, as well as to ensure a financial fund for the damages incurred by industrial companies.
CRO Industry demands from the executive authority and all organizations that supply and distribute gas in Croatia to ensure a sufficient quantity of gas in accordance with the contracts that companies have with gas suppliers, as concluded at the meeting of the Executive Board of five industrial branch associations that make up the Coordination of CRO Industry HUP. They also request that industry representatives be involved in the development of redefined existing, what they consider, poor plans. Until the gas supply is restored, they seek participation in the redistribution of existing gas with the aim of creating an emergency Exclusion and Temporary Inclusion Plan. This plan should include defining the minimum quantities of required gas for individual companies by days and parts of the day, as well as determining the analysis of damages from the exclusion and inclusion of gas both at the national level and regionally by counties.
In a statement from CRO Industry HUP, it is emphasized that local and state administration, as well as other organizations and institutions, must adjust their working hours to the new circumstances, and they request that a plan for the reduction and proportional decrease of gas supply to all users be prepared, adapted to the difficult conditions of gas supply. In addition to urgent measures aimed at facilitating business for Croatian industry, CRO Industry also identifies urgent measures for damage remediation as a consequence of the crisis. This includes securing a financial fund for damages incurred by industrial companies as a result of the gas crisis, and suspending the collection of levies at the national and local levels until the final determination of damages for affected companies (non-tax levies, utility fees, taxes, and contributions). CRO Industry urgently requests the immediate recording of all damages caused by the gas crisis, including business damages and direct damages to facilities.
