Regarding the news published on Bloomberg’s website, in which the CEO of HT, Ivica Mudrinić, spoke about what the company intends to do with the profit from 2008, as well as with retained earnings from previous years, corporate communications from the company told Lider that the decision will depend on the stance of the majority of shareholders.
– In an interview with Bloomberg, Mudrinić spoke about cash on the balance sheet and the options through which it can be utilized – they told us at HT, adding that alongside financing acquisitions, the buyback of treasury shares, dividend was also mentioned as one of the options. – If a dividend payout is proposed, the decision will be made by shareholders at the shareholders’ meeting – continues in the response from HT. Since Mudrinić’s statement was met with considerable enthusiasm from investors, as evidenced by the sudden rise in the price of the stock, we asked the company why the text of the conversation with Bloomberg was not published on the stock exchange as price-sensitive information. – Any decision that can in any way affect the stock price must be published on the stock exchange, but in this case, it is not a decision but a general overview of the ways in which inefficient cash on the balance sheet can be utilized – they say from HT. Therefore, numerous shareholders will have to wait until April or May and the main meeting when DT, as the main shareholder, will decide how to distribute the profit of our largest telecommunications company.
