Areni Zagreb is not threatened with gas disconnection

The Deputy Mayor of the City of Zagreb, Ivo Jelušić, stated on Thursday at a press conference held after the meeting of the City Executive that the contractors verbally informed them that all deficiencies identified during the technical inspection in the handball hall Areni Zagreb have been removed and that the hall will likely receive a permanent occupancy permit in a day or two.

It was also stated that Zagreb is ready to host the World Handball Championship and that there is no possibility of gas disconnection for the Arena as it is an event currently on the priority list of the City and the state. The official opening of the hall will be marked by a concert of the band Prljavo kazalište, which will take place on Saturday, January 17. For this purpose, the City will pay 289 thousand kuna for the organization, and the Government 89 thousand. At the meeting of the Executive, it was decided that the City will provide the Security and Intelligence Agency (SOA) with three apartments totaling 171 square meters at a price of 11.8 kuna per square meter.
