The Supervisory Board of Brodosplit appointed Srđan Kovač as the new CEO of the company during its meeting on Wednesday, as announced after the Supervisory Board meeting.
The Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Brodosplit, Vedran Duvnjak, emphasized that the Croatian Government supports the survival of the Split shipyard.
Kovač’s appointment as CEO of Brodosplit came two weeks after he was proposed for the position by the Government at the end of December last year. Kovač ‘succeeded’ Domagaj Klarić as the CEO of Brodosplit. Kovač is regarded in professional circles as an excellent economist and manager who could contribute to the financial recovery of the Split shipyard.
Brodosplit is experiencing significant financial losses. Officials from the company have previously stated multiple times that Brodosplit has incurred a loss of approximately 2.6 billion kuna over the past three years. (H)
