The delivery of natural gas to Romania has been reduced by 30 percent since Friday evening due to the gas conflict between Russia and Ukraine, said Ioan Rus, the director of Transgaz, on Saturday.
While Romania imports approximately 10 million cubic meters of gas daily from Russia, the supply on Friday amounted to only seven million cubic meters, he stated.
"Romania has sufficient reserves to cope with this reduction, and the supply to consumers is proceeding normally," Rus said on the Realitatea TV station. Minister of Economy Adrien Videanu, for his part, convened a meeting on Saturday morning with those responsible for the gas sector to discuss the latest energy crisis. (Hina)
