Commercial Court in Split Postpones Bankruptcy Opening for Dalmatinka Nova

The Commercial Court in Split today postponed the hearing regarding the proposal of workers from the Sinj factory Dalmatinka Nova for the reopening of bankruptcy due to unpaid September salaries, to January 22.

The court did not accept the employer’s request, the Ladini brothers, to dismiss the workers’ proposal as they have since received those salaries, given that they were paid via private payment slips. At the hearing on January 22, the CEO of Dalmatinka Nova, Gianfranco Ladini, is to submit to the court data on the company’s assets, their value, and the company’s liabilities.

In a letter sent to the court, the employer, who was not present at today’s hearing, claims that his account is neither blocked nor over-indebted and has no recorded debts or obligations to the workers, thus there is no reason for bankruptcy.

According to data available to the Commercial Court, the account of Dalmatinka Nova is blocked in the amount of 9.5 million kuna. Judge Ante Čapkun did not allow the workers to attend the hearing, and their representative Iva Radonja, from the Independent Union, told reporters that they are not satisfied with the court’s decision, especially since they have not received salaries for October and November, which they have added to the proposal for opening bankruptcy. They also requested a temporary ban on the disposal of assets. The Sinj factory, which employs around 200 people, has not operated for more than half a year, its electricity has been cut off, and after the recent expiration of the deferral of the redundancy program, they have started receiving termination notices.
