The retail chain Pevec has today opened its first sales center in Belgrade, with an investment valued at 40 million euros, Pevec reported. The center spans 40,000 square meters and offers more than 100,000 items, including products from Serbia.
In the Belgrade sales center, 300 employees have found jobs, increasing the number of employees within the Pevec Group to 4,000. The company’s long-term plan is to build another sales facility in New Belgrade, followed by expansion throughout Serbia.
Zdravko Pevec, President of the Pevec Group, emphasized that they consider the opening of the sales center in Belgrade a very profitable greenfield investment, as well as the first step in the Group’s expansion into the Serbian market. He added that their plan is to be present in all major cities in Serbia. Pevec rated the cooperation with producers in Serbia as excellent, noting that they currently collaborate with 150 of them.
By engaging local suppliers, they are opening doors to exports, as this goods are automatically introduced into their facilities in all countries where they operate, Pevec highlighted. The Pevec Group consists of 12 companies, six of which are in Croatia, while the other six are in Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, and now in Serbia. The Group will continue to build sales centers in all cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants, and then plans to construct smaller centers in spatially appropriate cities. (H)
