The Zagreb Stock Exchange continued to see an increase in stock prices today, mainly influenced by the positive trend in European markets, with the greatest focus of investors on shipping and construction stocks.

Currently, Crobex stands at 1,711 points, što is 2.2 percent higher than yesterday’s closing. During the day, it was up more than three percent. The regular trading volume of stocks by 1:30 PM amounts to a solid 22 million kuna."Investors are in a good mood – the stock index is back above 1,700 points, and solid trading has been achieved. The main focus of investors is on shipping and construction stocks", says Roman Rinkovec, investment advisor at the brokerage firm Credos. The most liquid stock is that of Atlantska plovidba, with a turnover of 584 million kuna and a price increase of 7.94 percent, to 667 kuna.

Other shipping stocks recorded turnover below one million kuna, but also significant price increases. The stock of Jadroplov rose by 6.95 percent, Uljanik Plovidba by 6.57 percent, and Tankerska plovidba by 5.19 percent. The good mood, which has prevailed for the second consecutive day, is evidenced by a series of positive blocks on the exchange. Due to price jumps of more than 10 percent, the stocks of Dioki, Jadransko osiguranje, Hotel Podgora, and Liburnija Riviera Hotels are currently blocked."In the past two days, Crobex has achieved a gain of approximately five percent. We are mainly following the positive trend in European markets, with nešto higher price increases", Rinkovec assesses. He adds that market participants are awaiting today’s opening of Wall Street, as well as the Fed’s decision on interest rate cuts and news about the fate of the plan to rescue the American automotive industry.
