The Ford Fiesta has been named the Croatian Car of 2009 by the jury of the Croatian Journalists’ Society (HND), it was announced on Tuesday by HND. The latest generation of the “Ford Fiesta” will officially arrive on the Croatian market at the beginning of next year. With 64 points, the “Fiesta” took first place ahead of the new “Renault Megane” which received 59 points, and the “Honda Accord” which was awarded 57 points by the jury.
The ten-member jury tested six finalists of this year’s HR Car selection, and the tests included, among other things, rapid lane changes on dry and slippery surfaces, vehicle handling, and stability in critical situations. The final award ceremony will traditionally take place at the end of January, at which 14 special awards will also be presented. This is the 15th time that Croatian automotive journalists have chosen the National Car of the Year – HR Car. (H)
