Diners Club Adriatic Becomes Erste Card Club

With the renaming of the card company Diners Club Adriatic d.d. to Erste Card Club d.d., the process of centralizing the entire credit card business segment of the Erste Group within one of its members in Croatia has begun.

Under the new name, the first card company in Croatia will continue the long-standing business of Diners Club credit cards, and the acquired experience and know-how will also be applied to the credit card operations of Erste and Steiermärkische Bank d.d. Existing clients of Diners Club Adriatic and clients of Erste Bank, users of Visa and MasterCard credit cards, will find that this expansion of Erste Card Club’s business does not affect the manner and conditions of using credit cards, and this change does not bring about personnel changes in the management of Erste Card Club, nor in the structure of its employees, as stated by Diners. 

Thus, Erste Card Club will now offer clients not only a wide range of Diners Club credit cards but also Visa and MasterCard credit cards. It will have a total of 22 types of credit cards intended for private membership and 15 types of credit cards intended for business users, which will enable all its clients to find and select the card that best meets their everyday financial needs.

Erste Card Club also represents the JCB card – a Japanese card brand that is one of the strongest in the global card business. Erste Card Club represents the JCB brand throughout the region – Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Albania. There has been a significant increase in Japanese tourists, JCB card users, in Croatia over the last two years, which significantly impacts the increase in traffic and further development of JCB card acceptance in the region.
 
As of October 31, 2008, Diners Club Adriatic, now Erste Card Club, had issued more than 455 thousand Diners Club cards, accepted at more than 85 thousand points of sale in Croatia. Of this number, Diners Club members can purchase in installments at more than 15 thousand points of sale, and every month at selected points of sale, they can buy in up to 12 installments without interest. As of October 31, 2008, Erste Bank had issued more than 75 thousand credit cards, which provide users with special benefits and discounts with numerous bank partners.
