Shipping Companies in the Black, Construction Companies in the Red

The Zagreb Stock Exchange continued its positive trend today, albeit with low liquidity, highlighting gains in the shipping sector and losses in the construction sector. The Crobex index currently stands at 1,738 points.

This is 0.32 percent higher than yesterday’s closing of the exchange. The regular turnover of shares by 1 PM amounted to around 17 million kuna. “After a prolonged ‘negative period’, we continue to record price increases today, although quite mild. We mainly follow trends from global exchanges, but with less intensity”, says Suzana Lončar, director of the brokerage firm Credos.
After this morning’s losses, stock prices on European exchanges are currently in the black. The London FTSE index has risen by 1.12 percent, the Paris CAC by 1.76 percent, and the Frankfurt DAX by 0.7 percent.

As Lončar points out, there is still a lack of stronger investor activity on the domestic exchange, although there is no particular reason for this, which is why liquidity remains stubbornly low. The most liquid stock is T-HT, with a turnover of 3.43 million kuna and a price increase of 0.39 percent, to 200.17 kuna. Following is the stock of IGH, with a turnover of 2.03 million kuna. Its price is down by 8.63 percent, to 4,253 kuna.

Other more liquid construction stocks are also recording losses today. The stock of Dalekovod has decreased by 2.06 percent, to 385 kuna. The stock of Ingra, on the other hand, has weakened by 1.07 percent, to 96.74 kuna. However, shipping stocks, which have been sharply corrected over the past month and a half due to the crisis in the global shipping market, are today recording significant gains. The stock of Atlantska plovidba has increased by 0.6 percent, to 698.55 kuna. It achieved a turnover of 1.8 million kuna.

The price of Jadroplov’s stock has strengthened by 9.6 percent to 162 kuna. The stock of Tankerska plovidba has risen by 6.1 percent, to 1,280 kuna, and Uljanik plovidba by 2.46 percent, to 670 kuna. Among the issues with million kuna turnover today are also the preferred shares of Adrisa, whose price has fallen by 1.64 percent, to 200 kuna, and the shares of Ina, which have increased by 2.36 percent, to 1,178 kuna.
