The Croatian Government today appointed Vladimir Faber as the Chief of Police, who has previously held this position as the interim Chief. Faber was appointed as the Chief of Police following a public competition.
In the closed part of today’s session, the Government also appointed a six-member working group from the Government and the City of Zagreb, which will review the financial assessments of the awarded projects for the construction of the new Zagreb Airport building. Three representatives from the Government and the City of Zagreb were appointed to the working group, which will review the investment aspect of all five awarded works for Zagreb Airport. A total of 17 submissions were received for the construction of the new airport building, and the expert commission selected five, with the winning solution being the project by IGH and architects Branko Kincl and Velimir Neidhardt. Prime Minister Ivo Sanader and the Mayor of Zagreb Milan Bandić had previously agreed that a special working group would examine the financial aspects of the projects, and earlier this month, the Prime Minister also proposed that the construction of the new terminal at Zagreb Airport should not be financed by the city and state funds but rather through a concession.
