The director of IGH, Jure Radić, is convinced that the construction of the new Zagreb airport will be realized according to their project. Radić stated during his appearance on the show Nedjeljom u 2 that the project will not cost more than 230 million euros, which is less than the upper limit of 240 million euros. He announced that due to public criticism, he will change the company’s name.
Radić believes that the project of the new Zagreb airport is not expensive, as što claimed by the profession and the media. He stated that he is confident that a joint commission of the Government and the City of Zagreb will confirm this. He also referred to the voting of the jury that decided on the airport, of which five out of nine members chose IGH, while Shigeru Ban and Norman Foster received two votes each. It is possible that the airport is being built on the basis of a concession, što would not hinder IGH in construction, Radić said.
Regarding the future of infrastructure in Zagreb, the director of IGH highlighted the construction of the metro as a priority. – As I have already said, if the condition is that IGH does not participate in it, I would agree, just to have it built because it is a long-term solution to traffic jams in Zagreb – said Radić, adding that IGH only wins 42 percent of projects in tenders. He claims that IGH is not a monopolist, adding that IGH only wins 42 percent of projects in tenders. (HRT)
