Splitska Banka achieved a pre-tax profit of 314 million kuna in the first nine months of this year, or 238.7 million kuna after tax, representing a growth of 21.2 percent compared to the same period last year.
This result is 42 million kuna higher than at the end of the third quarter of 2007, as reported by Splitska Banka, which operates within the Societe Generale group. They note that this growth is a result of an 11 percent increase in interest income or 52 million kuna, alongside minimal growth in expenses, with an intensive expansion of the business network and business development of 3.8 percent.
At the same time, liabilities to creditors have been reduced by more than one billion kuna, making Splitska Banka even more independent and reducing the impacts of movements from abroad, the bank states. At the end of the third quarter, capital adequacy stands at a high 11.36 percent. They add that these positive trends continued throughout October. (Hina)
