Jadran-Galenski laboratorij, Boxmark Leather, Caristrap Europe, Knauf, and the city of Prelog are the recipients of the Investor of the Year award presented by the Agency for Promotion of Export and Investment in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship.
The awards were presented in five categories: new investment, investment with the highest number of new employees, most innovative company, investment in less developed areas, and recognition for local government units for success in attracting investments. Opening the conference on Investment Environment and Investment Opportunities in Croatia, during which the awards were presented, Minister Damir Polančec emphasized that it is difficult to be an entrepreneur this year. Therefore, it is even more important to pay tribute to those who decide to undertake entrepreneurial ventures.
– The global crisis will have an impact on the situation in Croatia. Perhaps, thanks to smart monetary policy and reserves, the impact will be smaller, but there will still be consequences. Nevertheless, I urge entrepreneurs to propose solutions and ideas that can facilitate their business operations, said Polančec, adding that the results of work will be above the average of countries in the region.
The director of APIU, Slobodan Mikac, stated that the goal of the project is to promote and encourage new investments that are export-oriented, bring greater added value, and create new jobs, adding that there are foreign investments in Croatia, but more greenfield projects are needed. (B.B.)
